Preliminary task: contents page

This is the contents page to go with my school magazine front cover. I used the fonts Myriad Wed and Gill Sans Ultra Bold. This was the same as my magazine cover as I wanted to keep the house style throughout. I used the same colours of red and yellow to show that these 2 pages are related and this should be clear to the reader. I split up the images and the text so there was something different compared to other magazines, as many would just have the text on one side and then the images on the other. I decided to do this because it is more interesting and seeing a smaller piece of text to read is more likely to attract someone to reading rather than lengthy pieces which would just turn someone away, especially a school student which is the target audience for this magzine.

Again, like I did with the front cover, I changed parts of the fonts to bold or italic to give some variation, it also showed the key words, such as the student that is featured name (Holly Newell) and what the page is about (ie 'food bank')

If I were to do this again I would have taken more images as there wasn't much of a selection I could choose from so I had to use every image I had. I would also maybe have a different background that just black becase it is the main thing that is seen and it can look plain and boring, so in future I might have a patterned background or many have one big image as it.
