Research: Artist/band influence

These are artists I've researched into during the course and they are ones that have influenced me with my own magazine and they are also the type of artists I would want my magazine to feature.

Florence Welch (Florence and the Machine)

What I like about Florence is that she has a unique style and her red hair is iconic, it's the thing she's well known for. She always has hit singles and her albums are always feautred in magazines such as NME or Q.

 

Oasis

 Oasis are a massive band and have always been successful in the indie/rock music industry. Even though they have split up now, all of their songs still live on and they are often mentioned in magazines in 2013. I love the image they are trying to make in this photo and this is the sort of photo I would like in my own magazine.

 

The XX

The XX have only recently become bigger in the music industry, although they have been making songs for a few years now. They are a band that create music with a different approach than any other band and I think they have great songs and style. They often have their abums and singles promoted in magazines like my own.

 

 

Other bands and artists my magazine would feature are: The Smiths, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Kings of Leon, No Doubt etc.......

From doing this research I learnt what type of artist I should be looking to create and what the magazines and audience are looking for.
